Υποψηφιότητες Όσκαρ 2023: «Τα Πάντα Όλα» και «Δυτικό Μέτωπο» προηγούνται

...κόντρα στα προγνωστικά και το καθιερωμένο χολιγουντιανό κατεστημένο, οι ταινίες «Τα Πάντα Όλα» και «Ουδέν Νεώτερον από το Δυτικό Μέτωπο» απέσπασαν τις περισσότερες υποψηφιότητες, συγκεντρώνοντας 11 και 9 υποψηφιότητες αντίστοιχα. Η ακαδημία επέλεξε να επιβραβεύσει ως επί το πλείστον καλτ επιτυχίες από πρωτοεμφανιζόμενους σκηνοθέτες, παρά μεγαλεπήβολα μπλοκμπάστερ και καθιερωμένους ωτέρ.

Συγκεκριμένα, η ταινία «Τα Πάντα Όλα» (Everything Everywhere All at Once) των Daniel Kwan και Daniel Scheinert, ένα μυστήριο low-budget δράμα επιστημονικής φαντασίας με πολεμικές τέχνες που γοήτευσε το κοινό και έγινε γνωστό στόμα με στόμα, συγκέντρωσε συνολικά 11 υποψηφιότητες, μεταξύ των οποίων Καλύτερης Ταινίας, Καλύτερης Σκηνοθεσίας, Μουσικής, Σεναρίου αλλά και ερμηνειών για όλους ανεξαίρετους τους πρωταγωνιστές της. Ειδικά στην περίπτωση του Ke Huy Quan για τον Β’ Ανδρικό Ρόλο, η νίκη του είναι σχεδόν εγγυημένη, μιας και αποτελεί αδιαμφισβήτητο φαβορί μετά την μεγάλη νίκη του στις Χρυσές Σφαίρες. Οι γυναίκες του καστ ωστόσο δεν πάνε πίσω, με την Michelle Yeoh (ιερό τέρας του σινεμά πολεμικών τεχνών) να αποκτά επιτέλους την πρώτη της οσκαρική υποψηφιότητα, αλλά και την νεαρή Stephanie Hsu να αναγνωρίζεται στην κατηγορία του Β’ Γυναικείου Ρόλου για την εξαιρετική ερμηνεία της.

«Ουδέν Νεώτερο από το Δυτικό Μέτωπο»

Ακόμη πιο αναπάντεχη είναι η επιτυχία του φιλμ «Ουδέν Νεώτερο από το Δυτικό Μέτωπο» (All Quiet on the Western Front). Η γερμανική μεταφορά του κλασικού μυθιστορήματος του Ήριχ Μαρία Ρεμάρκ έκανε εντύπωση για τις ερμηνείες, την ατμόσφαιρα και τα σκηνικά της, αλλά και την ωμότητα με την οποία παρουσιάζει την φρίκη του πολέμου. Στην τρίτη θέση έρχονται τα «Πνεύματα του Inisherin», μια μαύρη ιρλανδική κωμωδία δια χειρός Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards), η οποία απέσπασε υποψηφιότητες για Καλύτερη Ταινία, Καλύτερο Διασκευασμένο Σενάριο και Καλύτερη Σκηνοθεσία. Τα «Πνεύματα του Inisherin» θα κυκλοφορήσουν τη χώρα μας στις 23 Φεβρουαρίου, ενώ το «Δυτικό Μέτωπο» είναι διαθέσιμο στο Netflix.

Τις υποψηφιότητες συμπληρώνουν οι ταινίες «Elvis» (με οκτώ υποψηφιότητες), «The Fabelmans» (με επτά υποψηφιότητες) και «Tar» (με επτά υποψηφιότητες). Αξίζει να σημειώσουμε την υποψηφιότητα της Αngela Βassett για Β’ Γυναικείο Ρόλο στο «Black Panther 2», καθώς και την υποψηφιότητα του του Paul Mescal για βραβείο A' ανδρικου Ρόλου στο «Aftersun». Φυσικά, σε αυτή την κατηγορία, ο Βrendan Fraser αποτελεί το αδιαμφισβήτητο φαβορί, για την ερμηνεία του στην «Φάλαινα» του Ντάρρεν Αρονόφσκι.

Όσο για το βραβείο Καλύτερης Ταινίας, ο αγώνας είναι ακόμη ανοικτός: Τα «Πνεύματα του Inisherin» και τα «Πάντα Όλα» θα κονταροχτυπηθούν για την πρωτιά, αλλά δε θα μας έκανε εντύπωση αν το «Δυτικό Μέτωπο» έκανε την έκπληξη και κέρδιζε το αγαλματίδιο.

Η τελετή απονομής των Όσκαρ θα λάβει χώρα στις 12 Μαρτίου!
